Versitile cam and LT bag

Like many modern journalists, I am responsible for taking the pics and writing the story. That often means lugging a lap top along with a DSLR with 2 lenses. I currently carry one lap top bag and another bag where I keep a SLR and separate lens with note books small tape recorders and other assorted crap. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a compact bag that can carry a laptop SLR and lens that will not break the bank and is smaller than a suitcase?

I saw that...I had enough dealing with floods in 96 when Aurora and Oswego were basicly flooded out, so that's why I try to stay away from floods now (my car got ruined) But those pictures are incredible that you took
